— The YourSpec story
YourSpec started with two engineers, one workbench, and the frustration of building wiring harnesses without access to the equipment that does it properly.
EST. 2024 · DALLAS, TX
Michael and Matt first crossed paths as employees of a leading solar R&D company. Michael specialized in designing the electrical hardware for their innovative test equipment while Matt excelled in firmware development and software design to run the equipment. Their collaboration was not only professional but also grew into a shared passion for building and modifying cars.
Their experiences at the solar firm and their mutual interest in car modifications laid the foundation for YourSpec. Michael’s expertise lay in building intricate electrical harnesses for the test equipment, often involving a deep dive into complex datasheets and wiring charts to ensure precision. This attention to detail mirrored his experiences in constructing harnesses for his race car, where continuity checks and meticulous wire management were essential.
It was these challenges that led to the birth of YourSpec, a comprehensive solution for self-service wire ordering and processing. Michael and Matt envisioned a user-friendly platform where individuals could define and customize their wiring projects, empowering them to order wire processed for their exact need with ease. By making these services easily accessible, their hope was to help others drastically reduce assembly time and make future diagnosis easier down the line.
Driven by their shared vision, Michael and Matt embarked on a mission to fill this gap in the market, providing a one-stop solution for wire ordering and processing that would benefit both professionals and enthusiasts alike.

Built the firmware and software that ran that same R&D test equipment. Today, he builds the Wiring Project Manager, the web app that lets you spec, save, and share custom harnesses line by line without leaving your browser.

We only stock high quality and authentic wire, contacts, and connectors. We know every project has different needs, so we stock multiple options of strength, weight, and durability.
Order wires individually and accurately cut to length for your project, but pay like you bought in bulk.
State-of-the-art UV laser that reacts photochemically with the titanium dioxide (TiO₂) in the wire insulation. Highly durable and readable marking.
Precise cuts every time. High-end rotary stripping tools accurately measure and strip to exact lengths, with an integrated sensor for conductor contact detection.
Save assembly time by letting YourSpec do the crimping for you. We have tools and die-sets specific to every pin we offer.
Want robustness on a wire end, or using screw-down terminal blocks? Specify tinning for complete solder coverage.
Our Wiring Project Manager allows all processing options to be fully configurable, so our services can be used in every kind of project.
